I grew up as a farm boy along with my ten siblings. Our parents , Maurice and Clara Staller, made sure we had a work ethic much different than what seems to be the norm today.

When I took Industrial Arts classes in high school, I realized how much I enjoyed working with wood and tools. In 1960, my father gave up farming and began making cabinets. It seemed natural to join him and two of my brothers in the company named Staller Cabinets, in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Years later we developed mobile shelving units and became know as Spacesaver Corporation.

Eventually, I moved to Whitewater, Wisconsin, and made cabinets for Home Lumber there. Then I formed my own company, Real Wood Products Co. where I made wire brush handles, harness table looms, and various other wood products. I also made pine furniture for Pinecraft Furniture out of Menominee Falls, Wisconsin.

In 1979, I moved to Germantown, near Milwaukee, and worked in a cabinet shop for several years. During that time, I started making wooden toys in my garage. When I took them to craft and art shows, etc., I found I really enjoyed being a vendor. It also appeared to me that there was a good market for canes and walking sticks. It looked like a good opportunity to put my woodworking and business experience together, and I started to move in that direction.

In March of 2010, I relocated to a new 1600 square feet facility in Janesville, Wisconsin, where I do all of my cane and walking stick production. I also have a showroom there with more that 1500 canes and walking/hiking sticks.

In addition to my store. I have many wholesale relationships with retail shops throughout the Midwest, and I’m always looking for more. I also have a few Independent Sales Reps.

I truly enjoy the art of making canes…. It’s not work to me because woodworking has been a pleasure all my life. The variety of woods and the individuality of the designs and creative process is very rewarding.

I hope you enjoy our products and our e-store
